Eli Shapiro is a writer, director, comedian, and person. His award-winning short films have been featured on Vimeo Staff Picks, Short of the Week, Omeleto, Film Shortage, Booooooom TV, have played in Oscar-qualifying festivals and been translated in languages around the world.

Eli has written for television on the Lifetime series “I Love You But I Lied," co-wrote a pilot for Poker Central, has written commercials for brands like Panda Express, and earned distinctions as a quarterfinalist in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s prestigious Nicholl Fellowship and winner of the Charles and Lucille King Award in Screenwriting.

Since starting out as a 13-year-old stand up comic in New York City, Eli graduated from NYU Tisch with a BFA in Film & Television, and has worked in production on things like “Louie” (FX) and “They Came Together” (Lionsgate). His drive-in movie theater wedding during the pandemic was featured in The New York Times.
